PV Component

ExCellLight EXL2-1V50 Module

A compact, single-cell indoor photovoltaic module delivering a regulated 1V output at up to 47.6 μW under standard 200 lux white LED illumination.

Precision Energy Harvesting in a Miniature Footprint

Optimised for Low-Light IoT and Wireless Sensor Applications

At just 23.8 × 10.2 × 1.5 mm³ with an active area of 2.15 cm², the EXL2-1V50 achieves a power density of 22.1 μW·cm⁻² under 200 lux white LED spectrum, making it one of the most efficient indoor photovoltaic modules available at this scale.

The module operates at a Maximum Power Point of 1.0 V and 47.6 μA, with an open-circuit voltage of 1.15 V and short-circuit current of 49.8 μA, providing a stable and predictable output compatible with low-power energy harvesting ICs.

Designed for straightforward PCB integration, the EXL2-1V50 features internally connected positive terminals and independently routable negative terminals, allowing flexible circuit configuration.

ExCellLight EXL10-4V170 Module

An eight-cell indoor photovoltaic module delivering a 4V output at up to 170 μW under 200 lux CCFL illumination, designed for applications requiring higher voltage energy harvesting in a slim, solderable form factor.

Higher Voltage Output for More Demanding Energy Harvesting Designs

A 4V Architecture That Directly Powers a Wider Range of Low-Energy Devices and Harvesting Circuits

Comprising 8 series-connected cells across a 7.8 cm² active area, the EXL10-4V170 delivers an operating point of 4.04 V at 42 μA (170 μW) under 200 lux CCFL spectrum, with a power density of 21.8 μW·cm⁻², while retaining strong performance of 141.1 μW under equivalent LED illumination.

Compact dimensions of 50.0 × 20.0 × 1.1 mm³ profile makes the EXL10-4V170 well-suited for space-constrained product enclosures where a higher bus voltage eliminates the need for a boost converter stage.

Electrical integration is achieved via soldered leads to the positive and negative terminals using a standard soldering iron at below 250 °C for under 5 seconds, with reflow soldering to be avoided.

PV Component

ExCellLight EXL1-1V20 Module

Lightricity's smallest indoor photovoltaic module, delivering a 1V output at 21.7 μW from a single cell in an ultra-miniature, sub-millimetre-thin form factor.

Ultra-Compact Energy Harvesting for the Smallest IoT Devices

A Sub-1mm Profile and 98 mm² Footprint That Opens Up Battery-Free Design in Space-Critical Applications

At just 11.65 × 8.85 × 0.65 mm³, the EXL1-1V20 is Lightricity’s most compact indoor PV module, making it suitable for integration into wearables, smart labels, and miniaturised wireless sensor nodes where board space is at an absolute premium.

Despite its size, the module achieves a power density of 22.1 μW·cm⁻² under 200 lux white LED illumination — consistent with the broader ExCellLight range — operating at 1.0 V and 21.7 μA for a total output of 21.7 μW at MPP.

The single-cell architecture provides an open-circuit voltage of 1.15 V and short-circuit current of 22.7 μA, offering a clean, predictable electrical interface for direct connection to ultra-low-power energy harvesting management ICs.
